Thermal failure of the connector and the impact of detailed explanation!
Time:2020-08-26 Read: 3268

When using the connector, if the application temperature is too high, it will cause some faults in the connector, and the thermal fault of the connector is usually divided into two forms. St. Peter will explain the thermal fault of the connector in detail below. Problems and impacts.

Generally, there are two main fault problems caused by overheating of the connector. The first is the loss of the normal contact force of the connector, which may be caused by the thermal expansion effect between the spring material of the connector and the plastic shell. It is caused by the decrease in the strength of the lower spring material and the stress relaxation of the spring material.

The second fault problem is that an insulating film is formed on the surface of the connector contact material, which usually results in a complete barrier to the conduction on the detachable interface of the connector. Due to the outgassing of the plastic shell or other adjacent volatile materials, the diffusion of non-noble metals on the contact surface and the subsequent oxidation may form a thin film.

The common effect caused by the thermal failure of the connector is that the increase in contact resistance reduces the transmission performance, and the decrease in contact force leads to a decrease in the actual contact area.
